I am 55, I have lived in Asia for over 25 years and I do enjoy and indulge in anything that makes life beautiful.

Back from France
Just came back from France where I caught a bad cold.
I Am sitting here in China where the days are becoming colder and I am looking forward to be going to Thailand to spend Xmas.
I have been working on my latest oil paintings in Hong Kong but am struggling on colours and how am trying to work out how I could soften the back of the painting to give more depth. It's full of warm colours and reflects a hot June day on the Cote d'Azur in the village of Bormes les Mimosas, a village that I visited in June this year. I will re-publish it when I will have finally tamed these colours.
Yesterday, I got myself a new 3G mobile to replace my old Sony Ericsson. We are definitly becoming enslaved by electronics but it is useful.
I had an interesting dinner a couple of nights ago and debated many aspects of the world's hypothetical future with a former Treasurer of Hong Kong. He was really spot-on on his analysis, I argued that Sorros move on Thailand prior to the Asian crisis was really designed to put Japan on its knees. He finally seemed to agree with my theory. Perhaps I should ask George directly? hehehe...

Back in China
A shitty trip by train with zillion little black spot to look at from my 185 cm high. Train station completely filled up with people. Where the f... are they going on a Wednesday afternoon and moreover on a typhon day?
That leaves me speachless. Fortunatly I have Vivaldi Cello Concerti blasting away my neurons, a touch of Renaissance wisdom in a maze of busy loudspeakers and shoving little people. Nice but tough to handle more than a few minutes...
China, what a place.
